John & Martha are my 2xGreat Grandparents. 10 yr. old John went on to marry Agnes Clara Davis in 1883. Here is Market Street today, from the Fore Street end. I think that No.10 was here, the wall to the right of the light purple door. In the car park to the right (the middle of the picture) was the Dolphin Inn, next door on the census to William, so possibly where he was working:
And here was Market Street in 1942 - hardly surprising we cannot find the exact location!!

This is - I THINK - the father of Elizabeth Jane Bolton (otherwise Florence Smith), my Grandmother. After a lot of research, I've narrowed it down to this one. By the mid 1890's he was working on the railway. And the following are the records from the other census years. In later years Elizabeth, now known as Florence Smith spun a yarn about her origins....
