When they got married, Agnes was living at 10 Worcester Terrace, Clifton, Bristol:

The marriage certificate simply lists her as a Spinster with no occupation. So... was this her home, or was she employed here??. On the 1881 census, 2 years before their marriage, the house was occupied as follows:

Name Marr Age Gender Birthplace Rel. Occupation
Robert D. KER M 87 M Scotland Head Income From Securities &c
Augusta KER M 80 F East Indies Wife
Charlotte B. KER U 51 F Greenock N B Daur
Isabella KER U 44 F Scotland Daur
Emily F. KER U 35 F Scotland Daur
Jane HARVEY U 64 F Dublin Nurse Domestic
Susan TROKE U 22 F Christchurch, Hampshire Cook
Clara NORTON U 27 F Bristol St Georges Nurse (Professional) (S M)
Emma WADE U 22 F Wraxall, Somerset Housemaid

Also on the 1881 census, Agnes is a Domestic Nurse in Maghull, near Liverpool. It is safe to assume therefore, that Agnes was employed here as a nurse when she married, maybe because Jane Harvey listed above had died or moved on.

On the 1901 census, John and Agnes, now with 11 year old William James Willis, were here - 23 Cleeve Road, Bristol:

John is a Journeyman Baker, now 40 years old, and also listed is Agnes Lily (known to me as Aunty Lily, a wonderful friend) who is employed as a Tailors Machinist.
